Arsenal handed boost in landing Serie A midfielder

Arsenal have been handed a boost in signing Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz during the summer transfer window.

The Gunners are planning to reinforce their midfield department, and Ruiz is one of the players under consideration ahead of next season.

Real Madrid and Barcelona have been much fancied to sign him, but Corriere dello Sport claims that the Gunners also have an opportunity.

Ruiz has the desire to return to the Spanish top-flight, but it is reported that he would also consider a move to the Premier League with Arsenal.

Mikel Arteta is eyeing a new central midfielder with creative ability. Ruiz would be an ideal choice, considering his all-round attributes.

He has bagged 10 goal contributions this campaign. He has also completed 90 per cent of his passes with an average of two tackles per game.

The Spaniard was valued at around £40m last summer, but should be much cheaper with his contract expiring at the end of next season.
