Liverpool enter hunt for Jonathan David

Liverpool could compete with Arsenal in the race to sign Jonathan David this summer, a report from Le10Sport claims.

The Canada international is currently in his second campaign at Lille where he has impressed with 17 goals in all competitions.

It is known that he will leave the club at the end of the season. The Gunners have been linked, but face plenty of competition.

Jurgen Klopp's side have now entered the hunt for the striker, who could be available for around €45-55 million this summer.

The Reds currently have Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino as their centre-forwards, but the latter has been regularly injured.

Firmino's present deal expires in the summer of 2023. The club could be tempted to cash in on his services during the off-season.

This could help them recoup funds for David, but it remains to be seen whether the 22-year-old would accept a limited role.

David would have an assured starting spot up front with the Gunners, but the same can't be said if he joins the League Cup holders.

The Gunners could part ways with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah when their contracts expire at the end of June.
