Arsenal ahead of Man Utd in Youri Tielemans pursuit

Arsenal are reportedly ahead of Manchester United in the race to sign Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans this summer.

The Belgian has entered the final 16 months of his Foxes contract, and he has no plans of putting pen-to-paper over a renewal.

Hence, the Midlands outfit are expected to sanction his sale this summer, and it is claimed that the Gunners have the edge.

Arsenal are presently fourth in the league standings with 54 points, four ahead of United, who have played a game more.

They are in pole position to qualify for the Champions League at the moment. That is a minimum requirement for Tielemans.

The Gunners have already taken initial steps towards the Belgian's signature. They had a secret meeting with his entourage in January.

A mid-season transfer was never on the cards, but the Gunners believe they have a genuine chance of luring him this summer.

Tielemans has had another fine campaign for the Foxes, bagging seven goals and three assists from 36 appearances in all competitions.
