United open to Henderson exit

Manchester United are prepared to part ways with goalkeeper Dean Henderson if they receive a fee of around £40m.

The England international has been the back-up shot-stopper this term with David de Gea being an undisputed starter.

This has led to claims that he could push for a permanent move elsewhere, but United are reluctant to lose him on the cheap.

According to The Mail, the Red Devils want at least £40 million to sanction the sale of their academy graduate this summer.

Newcastle United were keen on landing Henderson during the January transfer window, but their loan offer was snubbed.

They could try again with a permanent proposal this summer, but it is unclear whether they will meet the asking price.

Elsewhere, Henderson's £100,000-a-week salary could also scupper a potential move to the Tyneside outfit this summer.

Joelinton is presently the highest earner at the Magpies. He receives £86,000-a-week after his move from Hoffenheim.
