Arsenal have reached an agreement to sign Sao Paolo attacker Marquinhos during the upcoming transfer window.

The Gunners are expected to bolster their squad this summer, but they may not necessarily spend big sums on players.

While there could be a couple of marquee signings, the hierarchy are also focusing on pursuing emerging stars.

According to Goal, the north London club have finalised a summer deal for highly-rated Marquinhos from Sao Paolo.

The 19-year-old has made 39 appearances in his short playing career, registering four goals and three assists.

He has played on the right and left wing in the current season, but is also capable of leading the line on his own.

The Gunners have apparently found a loophole in his contract to sign him for a relatively cheap price this summer.

He is reportedly considered as one for the future, and it remains to be seen whether he will feature in pre-season.

The youngster was previously on the radar of Ajax.
