Erik ten Hag excited to work with Manchester United star
Incoming Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag is excited by the prospect of working with Cristiano Ronaldo next season.
The Portuguese made a stunning return to the Red Devils last summer. He has had a good homecoming season with 24 goals in all competitions.
Despite this, there have been doubts whether he would be part of Ten Hag's plans, but that no longer appears a cause for concern.
The 52-year-old was full of praise for Ronaldo earlier this month, and is now looking forward to working with him next season.
He told reporters: "Cristiano is magnificent footballer and a true winner - so I can’t wait to start working with him."
Ronaldo has been effective leading the line this term, but has not received much help from his teammates in the final third.
Fernandes has been the only other player to hit double figures in terms of goals. He has netted only 10 times this season.
Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford have scored five goals apiece. A huge improvement is required for next season.
