Uruguayan star keen on joining Man Utd

Benfica striker Darwin Nunez is open to the prospect of joining Manchester United this summer, TalkSPORT claims.

The Uruguayan netted a stunning tally of 34 goals for Benfica last season, and he is now on the radar of elite European clubs.

United are among his main admirers, and they have now received a boost with the striker open to playing under Erik ten Hag.

However, a deal won't be straightforward. Benfica have significantly increased his price tag and want £68m to sell him.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid and Liverpool are also interested in his services, and United must act fast to land his signature.

While Nunez has given the green light for the transfer, he could still snub United for a Champions League-based outfit.

Aside from Nunez, Ten Hag has his sights on landing Ajax defender Jurrien Timber. United have recently opened talks.

The Dutchman has been hailed for his all-round defensive qualities alongside distribution. He could be available for £43m.
