Nunez to join Liverpool?

Manchester United have been handed a big blow with Darwin Nunez agreeing personal terms with Liverpool.

The Uruguayan has been on the radar of the Red Devils for several weeks, but he appears set to snub them for their arch-rivals.

According to journalist Gianluigi Longari, Liverpool have now agreed personal terms over a five-year contract with the 22-year-old.

They are now in the progress of negotiating a fee with Benfica. This may take some time with the Portuguese outfit eyeing the best offer.

Benfica are looking for at least €105 million for the marksman, but the Reds are reportedly willing to offer around €80m plus €25m in add-ons.

United seem in a better position financially, but Nunez is determined to join the Merseyside giants, where he can also play Champions League football.

The news will come as a huge setback for the Red Devils, considering Nunez has been the number one striker target for new manager Erik ten Hag.
