Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is reportedly interested in signing Sporting Lisbon defender Goncalo Inacio this summer.

The 20-year-old is a strong ball-playing central defender, and Correio da Manha claims that his progress has caught the eye of Ten Hag.

The Dutch tactician has been impressed with his overall attributes and believes he has the qualities to impose himself in the Premier League.

It is added that Inacio would fancy a move to Old Trafford this summer. United will need to trigger the €45m buy-out clause on his contract to sign him.

Inacio would be a quality long-term signing, but it remains to be seen whether the Red Devils will seek to secure his services ahead of next season.

Ajax's Jurrien Timber has been touted as the number one defensive target. United have already opened talks over a possible summer transfer.

The Dutchman has similar attributes to Inacio, but he is strong with his tackling and interceptions. He could be better suited for English football.
