Arsenal want to sign Ajax star Lisandro Martinez
Arsenal have reportedly made it a priority to sign Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez this summer.
The Gunners are looking to bolster multiple positions and the left-back department could be one of those.
Kieran Tierney has been injured at different phases of the last few seasons, and the club need a quality competitor.
Nuno Tavares failed to impress last term, and there are already suggestions that he could be loaned out for next season.
According to The Athletic, the Gunners are now keen on landing Martinez, and have already failed with an opening bid.
Their first offer of around €30m was snubbed by the Dutch champions, but they are expected to come with a renewed bid.
Martinez played as a left centre-back last season. He impressed with his tackling, distribution and ability to clear his lines.
He is also capable of operating from the left-back spot, and that is supposedly the reason behind the Gunners' pursuit.
Manchester United have also been linked with him in recent weeks, but Martinez has given the green light for a move to Arsenal.
