Arsenal confident of agreeing deal for Brazilian star

Gabriel Jesus news

Jesus to Arsenal a matter of time

Arsenal are confident of finalising the transfer of Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus, according to ESPN.

The Brazil international has been identified as the Gunners' top transfer target for the centre-forward position.

Their opening bid of £30m was recently turned down by Manchester City, and the club are still confident of securing his services.

The Cityzens want around £50m for their player, but the Gunners plan to negotiate a lesser sum while including add-ons.

If they manage to finalise a suitable agreement, a move could be straightforward with personal terms already agreed.

Jesus could become the club's second highest earner behind midfielder Thomas Partey with wages of £190,000-a-week.

Arsenal have been busy in the early phase of the transfer window and they have already announced the arrival of Marquinhos.

An agreement is also in place to sign Porto attacker Fabio Vieira, and an announcement will be made after the photoshoots.

Arsenal are also expected to confirm the signing of New England Revolution goalkeeper Matt Turner. A deal was agreed in January.
