Manchester United have identified Watford goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann as a potential replacement for outbound star Dean Henderson.

Henderson has played second fiddle to David de Gea over the past two years, and he is now expected to pursue a loan deal elsewhere.

Nottingham Forest are favourites to sign him, and The Athletic reports that the Red Devils may look to sign Bachmann as a replacement.

Watford are expected to sanction multiple departures after their relegation, and Bachmann could be one of those heading for the exit door.

He could be available for £2-4 million this summer. It remains to be seen whether he would accept a deputy goalkeeping role for next season.

Bachmann was Austria's regular keeper at the Euros, but has recently lost his place under manager Ralf Rangnick due to the lack of minutes.

He may need to play consistent first-team football again to break into the manager's plans, and that is unlikely to happen with United.
