Chelsea handed big boost in signing Raphinha
Chelsea have been handed a big boost in signing Arsenal target Raphinha during this summer's transfer window.
The Brazilian has been a solid performer for Leeds United for the past two seasons, but he is now eyeing a bigger challenge.
Barcelona were his preferred club earlier this summer, but they can't afford him amid their difficult financial situation.
According to The Athletic, Arsenal recently made an approach for Raphinha, but their offer was well below the price tag.
The same outlet claims that Raphinha would prefer to join Chelsea ahead of the Gunners with the chance to win major trophies.
Raphinha could have been available for just £20m, had Leeds been relegated from the Premier League at the end of last season.
Instead, they are now said to demand around £65m, and could delay his transfer in the hope of clubs meeting their valuation.
Chelsea have recently made an enquiry through owner Todd Boehly, who will be temporarily in charge of transfers this summer.
