Romelu Lukaku set to rejoin Inter Milan from Chelsea

Chelsea have reportedly agreed a loan deal that will see Romelu Lukaku return to Inter Milan this summer.

The Belgian rejoined the Blues from the Nerazzurri for a staggering €115 million fee last summer, but failed to impress sufficiently.

He netted just 15 goals over the course of the 2021/22 campaign. Out of those, only eight came in the English top-flight.

Hence, there are no surprises that he is eager to move on, and Matteo Barzaghi reports that Inter have finalised his return.

The 29-year-old will rejoin the Serie A giants on a season-long loan deal for around €8 million. It could rise further with add-ons.

The Nerazzurri won't have any obligation or option to buy which represents a huge loss for Chelsea, given the outlay last summer.

The Blues will be hoping that Lukaku can revive his form with Inter such that they are persuaded to sign him on a permanent deal.

Lukaku's exit should ease the wage bill of the Blues. They stand to save around €378,000-a-week weekly with his departure.
