Manchester United have no plans of parting ways with midfielder Scott McTominay this summer, according to The Times.

The Scotland international has been a mainstay in defensive midfield for the Red Devils, but his playing time could reduce next season.

The Red Devils are currently on the cusp of landing Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona, and he is expected to operate from number six role.

Irrespective of this, United have no plans of sanctioning McTominay's exit with manager Erik ten Hag viewing him as an important player.

The Dutch tactician is planning to make signings of his own this summer, but he does not have any plans of overhauling the entire squad.

United underperformed last season with a sixth-place Premier League finish, but they were runners-up behind Manchester City before that.

Ten Hag firmly believes he can transform the fortunes of multiple stars including Marcus Rashford, who looked out of sorts last term.

The England star netted only five goals across all competitions and will be hoping to make a brighter start to push for a World Cup place.
