Man Utd won't sign Brobbey

Manchester United expect to miss out on signing RB Leipzig striker Brian Brobbey, according to Manchester Evening News.

The Red Devils were recently linked with the 20-year-old, who has previously worked under manager Erik ten Hag at Ajax.

It was suggested that a reunion could be on the cards, but M.E.N insist that United are unlikely to pursue his signature.

Brobbey spent the second half of last season on loan at Ajax from Leipzig. The Dutch side will now sign him permanently.

United have the financial power to hijack the £17 million move, but that could spoil their working relationship with Ajax.

The club are currently aiming to sign Lisandro Martinez and Antony from the Eredivisie giants under Ten Hag's recommendation.

If they were to sign Brobbey ahead of Ajax, it could potentially hamper their prospects of landing the South American duo.

United seem more closer to signing Martinez over Antony. It may cost at least €60m to land the Argentine this summer.
