Arsenal reach verbal agreement to sign Zinchenko
Arsenal have reached a verbal agreement with Manchester City for the services of Oleksandr Zinchenko, Fabrizio Romano claims.
The Gunners have been keen on signing a new left-back this summer, and they were initially linked with Ajax's Lisandro Martinez.
Talks were held with his encourage, but they bowed out of the race after it was known that Ajax wanted at least £46 million up front.
Zinchenko has been the back-up option and Romano has now confirmed that a deal worth £30 million has been agreed between the clubs.
Arsenal will now proceed to negotiate personal terms with the player. It should be a matter of time before Zinchenko signs for them.
The Ukrainian has been a long-term target for the Gunners, and he was first on their radar during the 2020 summer transfer window.
Mikel Arteta has an excellent relationship with him from his days as the City assistant manager, and they are now set to reunite at Arsenal.
