Man Utd remain keen on De Jong

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag remains determined to bring Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona this summer.

The Red Devils have agreed a transfer package with the Blaugrana for the 25-year-old, but he has no plans of leaving the club.

The Dutchman could be forced through the exit door in the coming weeks, but that would depend on his deferred wages being paid.

Chelsea are currently favourites to sign him with Champions League football, but United are not giving up yet on their pursuit.

According to Dutch journalist Marcel van der Kraan, De Jong continues to remain the number one priority for Ten Hag and United.

There is still optimism that they can secure his services despite the fact that they have been disadvantaged by Chelsea's interest in him.

Ten Hag has already spoken with De Jong on a number of occasions, and there is hope that he could persuade him to join United.

De Jong should make a decision over the next few days, considering Barcelona need a big-money sale to register new signings.
