Man Utd to swoop for Austrian striker?

Manchester United could return for Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic after failing to sign Benjamin Sesko from RB Salzburg.

The Red Devils were hotly tipped to sign the Austrian at the beginning of the summer, but shifted their focus to Sesko last month.

Negotiations were held with Salzburg for the teenager, but they opted to sell him to their sister club Leipzig on a cut-price deal.

Hence, United need to look elsewhere to bolster their strikeforce, and The Times reports that Kalajdzic is back on their radar.

Kalajdzic would be a solid back-up striker for United as he is very strong in the air. He has a dominating presence with his height.

The 25-year-old has had his injury troubles in the past, but would be a game-changer for the Red Devils if he can stay unscathed.

He has scored 50 per cent of his goals with headers over the past two campaigns, and would provide something different for United.

Stuttgart value him at around £20m.
