Blackburn Rovers striker set for exit?

Leeds United and OGC Nice are both in the race to sign Blackburn Rovers' talented striker Ben Brereton Diaz, as the French club have trumped Leeds' most recent offer with a 10 million euro offer. Leeds United had made a bit of around £7.5 million to sign the Chile international who has 15 caps to his name.

Last season Brereton Diaz bagged an impressive 22 Championship goals, however was unable to help his club return to the Premier League.

The 23-year-old has spent the entirety of his career playing in England, having emerged through Manchester United and Stoke City's youth setups, before making a move to Nottingham Forest and later on Blackburn.

Newly appointed Blackburn manager Jon Dahl Tomasson has admitted that the player may leave, but that he would not be sold on the cheap. The Danish coach said: “He’s a great player so we know that we’d need to get the right amount of money.

“I would love him to stay, I know that. The most important thing is if, if it should happen, and there’s still two weeks left, then the amount would have to be right and it would need to be a very good amount, because he’s a very good player.”
