Casemiro deal to be announced on Tuesday afternoon
Manchester United will complete a move for Brazilian midfielder Casemiro on Tuesday afternoon, as the Real Madrid star flies to England for a medical on Monday. The player said his farewells at a press conference on Monday morning.
Man Utd's dismal start to the season has seen them forced to make a move for the 30-year-old, who spent 9 years with the La Liga side, playing 221 games.
Compatriot Fred is believed to be the player likely to be dropped to accommodate Casemiro in the first team.
The player said in an interview: "The titles I’ve won were achieved with the help of my family, the club, the president, José Ángel Sánchez, Ramón Martínez, the coaches and my teammates. Of all my teammates, I can’t not highlight Luka Modrić and Toni Kroos. With them, I’ve enjoyed football so much. Thanks also to the fans, for those special nights. I’m sure that all I’ve learned here will help me to continue my career at another great club, at Manchester United."
A medical will be wrapped up on Tuesday morning, allowing the presentation of the player in the afternoon at Old Trafford.
