Man Utd star picked up fresh injury before Real Sociedad clash
Manchester United defender Luke Shaw picked up a foot injury before the club's Europa League opener against Real Sociedad.
The England international ended the previous campaign on the sidelines, having undergone an operation to remove bolts from his knee.
It was anticipated that he would return this campaign in fine form and shape, but it appears he has now suffered a fresh injury setback.
According to Manchester Evening News, the left-back was expected to start against Sociedad, but could not feature due to a foot issue.
The concern is only a minor one, and it remains to be seen whether he will be available to face Sheriff away from home on Thursday.
Shaw started the opening two games for United this season which ended in defeats. He has since been on the bench as an unused substitute.
Tyrell Malacia has now become the first-choice left-back for the Premier League games, and Shaw will need to earn his place back.
