Ronaldo free to leave Man Utd

Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo is free to leave the club when the transfer window reopens in January, The Telegraph claim.

The Portuguese star was desperate to leave the Red Devils this summer as he was eager to play Champions League football once again.

A number of clubs including Chelsea, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich were linked, but ultimately there were no solid proposals.

Ronaldo has since been used sparingly by manager Erik ten Hag, and it is now reported that a winter departure is a realistic possibility.

Ten Hag was eager to work with the 37-year-old at the beginning of the season, but he has now given the green light for his exit.

Ronaldo does not have any suitors at the moment, but he is hoping to impress in the coming weeks as well as at the World Cup.

There are big-money offers from Saudi Arabia, but the Portuguese is keen on playing a 20th straight campaign in the Champions League.
