Manchester United have decided to open contract discussions with defender Diogo Dalot amid interest from European sides.

Dalot has entered the final year of his Red Devils deal, but the club have the option to extend his stay for another campaign.

They will need to negotiate with him beyond that period and it is reported that talks are finally underway with the right-back.

Dalot has been attracting interest from Barcelona and AC Milan in recent weeks while Juventus and Roma are also tracking him.

United don't want the player to be enticed by the quartet and are prepared to finalise terms early over a new long-term contract.

Dalot is presently one of the lowest-paid players at Old Trafford at just £25,000-a-week. He is bound to demand a big raise.

The 23-year-old has been an undisputed starter at right-back this campaign and has started every game under manager Erik ten Hag.

Journalist Jacque Talbot believes Dalot is bound to agree contract terms with United rather than considering a fresh challenge away.
