Chelsea midfielder ready to sign new contract - Agent

Jorginho's agent has confirmed that the Italian is looking forward to penning a new deal with Chelsea.

The midfielder has entered his fifth season with the Blues and it could be his last with his contract expiring next summer.

The Blues are yet to open talks over a renewal, but his representative Joao Santos has said that Jorginho fancies staying.

Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb, Santos said that the priority is to negotiate with Chelsea and plans are being made.

He said: "His contract is expiring in June but our priority is to negotiate with Chelsea, so we are on it."

Jorginho recently made his 200th appearance in the Blues shirt. He will be hoping to celebrate more landmark moments.

He has been a regular since manager Graham Potter took charge, but the final decision will rest on the club's hierarchy.

The Blues may need to meet his demands for a long-term contract or decide to release him and pursue a young replacement.
