Graham Potter reacts after Chelsea's 4-1 loss at Brighton
Chelsea manager Graham Potter has said that Brighton & Hove Albion thoroughly deserved their victory over them.
The Blues were unbeaten in nine games since Potter took charge, but they were completely outclassed by the Seagulls on Saturday.
Right from the off, the south Coast outfit were the better side and there were no surprises that they won by a comfortable 4-1 score.
Speaking after the humbling defeat, Potter said that the Blues had opportunities to score, but Brighton deserved the result.
He said: "We had some opportunities to test the keeper, but it was too open and Brighton were dangerous. We were pushing and pushing and throwing players on, but Brighton deserved it. You have to say congratulations to them."
The victory was a memorable one for the Seagulls, considering it was their first in the league since Roberto De Zerbi took charge.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have lost ground to the Champions League places. They are now three points adrift of fourth-placed Newcastle.
