Arsenal and Chelsea want to sign Dutch forward?

Arsenal and Chelsea could go head-to-head to sign Barcelona winger Memphis Depay in January, according to Sport.

The Dutchman's contract at Camp Nou expires next summer, and it is believed that Barcelona are willing to let him leave in January.

A package of around £4.3m will be considered by the Catalan giants, who are keen to avoid losing him on a free transfer in June 2023.

Arsenal and Chelsea are showing an interest in the attacker and it remains to be seen whether the forward is tempted to return to England.

Depay previously has a forgettable Premier League stint with Manchester United. He barely made an impression in the top-flight.

He managed to revive his career at Lyon before his move to Camp Nou, but could be on the move again amid the lack of playing time.

A winter transfer seems a certainty at the moment. Depay will want a consistent playing role wherever he joins in the New Year.
