Arsenal are set to land the services of Mykhaylo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk, according to The Mirror.

The Ukrainian has been in impressive form for his club this season, registering 10 goals and eight assists from 18 games.

His form has caught the eye of several clubs, but The Mirror claim that Arsenal are set to win the race to sign him in January.

Shakhtar sporting director Darijo Srna recently said that the club would not settle for anything less than £90m for Mudryk.

However, the Gunners have reportedly succeeded in convincing them to accept £40m plus add-ons for the 21-year-old.

Newcastle United have also been in contact with Shakhtar, but Mudryk is said to prefer a move to the Emirates Stadium.

He has spoken fondly about manager Mikel Arteta and Arsenal in recent weeks, and has his sights on joining the club.

Aside from Mudryk, the Gunners could land midfielder Danilo from Palmeiras when the transfer window reopens.
