Chelsea and Man Utd pushing to sign Dutch defender

Chelsea and Manchester United are interested in signing Inter Milan defender Denzel Dumfries, according to Calciomercato.

The Netherlands international has been on huge demand over the past few months but the Nerazzurri have resisted his sale.

They plan to hold the same stance for January but reports claim that the scenario could change at the end of the season.

Inter need to balance their books by recouping around €60m and they could do so by parting ways with Dumfries next summer.

Chelsea are currently leading the race to sign the Dutchman, but United are not far behind with Erik ten Hag being an admirer.

Ten Hag watched Dumfries closely when he was managing Ajax and he is now keen on landing the former PSV Eindhoven star.

Dumfries has also been linked with several other clubs including Real Madrid, but the Premier League seems his next destination.

The 26-year-old may have a choice to make at the end of the campaign.
