Man Utd ready to beat Liverpool to Enzo Fernandez?
Manchester United are reportedly prepared to beat Liverpool in the pursuit of Benfica midfielder Enzo Fernandez.
The Red Devils scouted the 21-year-old at River Plate last season, but they decided against landing his signature in the summer.
This has proved to be a huge blunder, considering the Argentine has been superb for Benfica and recently won the World Cup.
According to UOL Esporte, United are now determined to sign him in January and they are prepared to meet Benfica's demands.
They are willing to trigger the €120 million release clause in his contract in order to beat Liverpool in the race for his services.
Jurgen Klopp's side are also very interested in the midfielder, but are reluctant to pay more than €100m for him next month.
It remains to be seen whether there is any truth to the speculation. A holding midfielder is not a priority for United at the moment.
They have to bolster their attack next month and it would be a huge statement if they are willing to spend big on Fernandez.
