Man Utd want Bundesliga star as Dubravka replacement
Manchester United want to sign Borussia Monchengladbach goalkeeper Yann Sommer as a replacement for Martin Dubravka.
Dubravka joined the Red Devils on loan from Newcastle United last summer. As part of the deal, the Magpies had the option to recall him in January.
The Tynesiders have now triggered the clause and this has left the Red Devils short in the goalkeeping department for the second half of the season.
They are now looking for a new deputy keeper and TalkSPORT claim that the club are likely to enter talks with Monchengladbach for Sommer soon.
United were initially aiming to sign him on a free transfer at the expiry of his contract next summer and they are now open to landing him this month.
Monchengladbach are reportedly prepared to part ways with the Switzerland star, provided any club is willing to pay around £5 million this winter.
Aside from the Red Devils, German champions Bayern Munich are hot on the trail of the 33-year-old following a leg break for Manuel Neuer.
