Liverpool in race to sign Evan Ndicka

Evan Ndicka news

French defender wanted by Liverpool

Liverpool are confident that an agreement can be reached with Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt for the sale of centre-back Evan Ndicka this January transfer window, as reports emerged of a bid worth approximately £46.5 million. The defender has caught the eye since his move to Germany in 2018, but has yet to play for France's national side.

The defender hopes that a move to the Premier League with Liverpool would boost his chance of international recognition, and is already discussing with his agent to help push through a transfer move to England. The French under-21 international has appeared in 119 Bundesliga games, scoring 9 goals.

Standing at 6 foot 4, Ndicka is one of the Bundesliga's tallest defensive players, and it is this height that attracted Jurgen Klopp to make a move. Klopp is looking for a long-term partner for Virgil van Dijk, and Ndicka is seen as the best option on the market.

Liverpool will need to move swiftly to sign the defender though, as Real Madrid and Italian side Juventus have both been linked with moves for the defender.
