Chelsea open talks to sign Brighton player Moises Caicedo

Graham Potter wants to raid his former club Brighton and Hove Albion to sign Moises Caicedo as the Ecuador international midfielder looks set to depart the South Coast club in favour of a move to West London. The 21-year-old caught the eye during the 2022 World Cup, and with Blues manager Potter already under pressure to deliver results after a dismal run of form, the English manager could raid his former club for yet another player.
Liverpool are also said to be considering a move for Caicedo, but Chelsea are firmly in pole position to sign the player with N'Golo Kante out with a long-term injury and Jorginho still yet to pen a new contract. Additionally, talks for Enzo Fernandez have fallen through.
A dismal 2-1 defeat to Fulham yesterday, and a red card for new signing Joao Felix puts Potter under intense pressure to deliver, and he is returning to his last team to find reinforcements.
Last summer, Brighton quoted teams £80 million to sign Caicedo, but eyefootball understands a fee of around £50 million would be enough to persuade his club to sell.
