Arnaut Danjuma signs for Tottenham on loan
Tottenham have hijacked Everton's loan deal to sign Netherlands international Arnaut Danjuma, and agreed a deal that brings the 25-year-old to White Hart Lane until the end of the season. The Toffees had already agreed terms, completed a medical and arranged media for an announcement of Danjuma's arrival, before Spurs made their last minute move and persuaded the Villarreal forward to move to North London instead.
Danjuma scored 12 goals in 33 La Liga games at Villarreal, and prior to moving to La Liga, Danjuma enjoyed a short spell with AFC Bournemouth, scoring 15 goals in 47 games.
It is understood that Tottenham have no option to complete a permanent transfer for Danjuma and will therefore have other competition to wrap up a deal in the summer.
Danjuma is expected to offer competition for England international captain Harry Kane and fill in for Son Heung-Min, who has been struggling for form in recent months.
Danjuma is valued by Villarreal at around 30 million euros should a permanent transfer be considered.
