Sunderland monitor Bruno Cheyrou

Sunderland could be making a move for another Rennes player, after the club were linked with a swoop for Jimmy Briand; it seems that the French side wish to make an offer for French midfielder Bruno Cheyrou in the summer.

Cheyrou has appeared for Liverpool in the Premiership, and a move to Sunderland has emerged as a possibility as Roy Keane searches for reinforcements for the summer.

Sunderland are reportedly ready to offer £2 million for the Frenchman, who has struggled at Rennes this year.

Cheyrou is a defensively minded central midfielder with a tenacious tackle and has solid passing ability.
