Chelsea ready to beat Man Utd to Goncalo Ramos?
Chelsea are ready to beat Manchester United to the signing of Benfica striker Goncalo Ramos this summer.
The Blues were determined to land the 21-year-old last month, but they could not convince Benfica into a sale.
However, they have made the promise to return for him and will make a fresh approach ahead of the summer.
Benfica president Rui Costa is prepared to sell the striker for €100m and Chelsea appear keen to win the race.
It remains to be seen whether United compete with them for the 21-year-old, who has 19 goals and eight assists this term.
The Red Devils are big admirers of him and they recently contacted his agent Jorge Mendes over a possible deal.
Aside from Chelsea and United, Newcastle United could be dark horses to land the highly-rated young centre-forward.
The Magpies signed Alexander Isak for €70m last summer and they could look for another young emerging striker.
Ramos has been dubbed as the next big thing in Portuguese football.
