Man Utd to beat Arsenal to Belgian international?

Manchester United could look to beat Arsenal to the signing of Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans this summer.

The Belgian was touted to join the Gunners at the beginning of the season, but the London giants were put off by the £40m price.

They did not make an approach for the midfielder in January but are expected to make a proposal when his contract expires in June.

It is now reported by journalist Ben Jacobs that the Gunners won't be alone in the pursuit and could face competition from United.

United boss Erik ten Hag is reportedly an admirer of the Belgian's talents and will urge the hierarchy to make a contract offer.

The Dutch tactician has a good eye for talent. There were eyebrows raised when he signed Christian Eriksen on a free transfer deal.

Eriksen has proved his critics with several stand-out performances and Ten Hag may feel he could do the same with Tielemans.
