Liverpool to sign Chelsea target Josko Gvardiol?

Liverpool are reportedly planning an ambitious move for RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol this summer.

The Croatian star was the subject of interest from Chelsea last summer, but Leipzig made it clear that he was not for sale.

The Blues are likely to return for him at the end of the season, but David Lynch claims that the Reds could offer stiff competition.

The Merseyside giants are expected to sign a marquee centre-back amid their defensive woes under manager Jurgen Klopp this term.

Gvardiol has been on their radar for a number of years and the Reds will make a genuine effort to land him when the current season ends.

Leipzig rejected an offer of around €90 million from the Blues back in August 2022 and they are now expected to demand over €100m.

The Bundesliga giants don't face any pressure to sell him but their resolve could be tested if any club agrees to meet their transfer valuation.
