Erik ten Hag confirms striker blow for Man Utd
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Anthony Martial will be sidelined for the FA Cup quarter-final vs Fulham.
The Frenchman has suffered five separate injuries this campaign. He returned to training two weeks ago but has yet to prove his fitness.
Speaking in today's press conference, Ten Hag revealed that Martial is not fully fit yet and won't play any part against the Cottagers.
Martial's current deal with the Red Devils expires in the summer of 2024 but the club have the option to keep him for another 12 months.
Judging by his injury woes, the hierarchy are expected to consider his departure when the transfer window reopens this summer.
Martial has fared decently with eight goal contributions in 700 minutes this term, but he has failed to stay unscathed over long periods.
The best solution could be to sell him in the summer rather than wait for another 12 months where his transfer value could drop further.
