Man Utd have confirmed interest in Dutchman - Fabrizio Romano

Manchester United have confirmed their interest in signing Bayer Leverkusen defender Jeremie Frimpong this summer.

The Red Devils are planning to land a new right-back in the summer and Frimpong is the priority target for the manager.

Talks have held with his representative and United are expected to make a formal bid for his services in the coming weeks.

Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that United are hot on the trail of him but a transfer may not be straightforward for them.

The club currently have Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka as right-back choices and will need to offload one of them.

With Dalot in contract talks, Wan-Bissaka seems the likely candidate to head for the exit door at the end of the campaign.

If United are successful in parting ways with Wan-Bissaka, they could then focus on pursuing the services of Frimpong.

Frimpong has been brilliant for Leverkusen this term with 16 goal contributions. He has also won over six duels per game.
