Liverpool and Man Utd chasing World Cup winner

Liverpool and Manchester United are interested in signing Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister this summer.

The Premier League giants are aiming to bolster their midfield and Mac Allister has been identified as the leading target.

The Argentine has had a fine season for Brighton with 12 goal involvements but he looks likely to be sold in the coming weeks.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the midfielder has a gentleman's agreement with Brighton to leave the club during the summer.

Hence, talks over a transfer could happen very soon. Mac Allister prefers to join a new club before the beginning of pre-season.

Both Liverpool and United would be lucrative destinations for the player but his move could depend on regular playing time.

He would not want to join a club where he won't be a guaranteed starter. Hence, Mac Allister will have to be convinced.

Liverpool could be the front-runners to land him but United can't be ruled out of the race as well ahead of the summer.
