Varane suffers season ending injury?

Manchester United defender Raphael Varane could reportedly miss the rest of the campaign with an ankle injury.

The Frenchman sustained the injury blow against Sevilla last week. It was initially predicted that he could be sidelined for a few weeks.

However, further examinations have now revealed that the setback is more serious and he could be out of action for more than a month.

Hence, Varane is set to miss the remaining eight games of the Premier League season, barring him making a surprise recovery.

United anticipate that he could be available for the FA Cup final but Erik ten Hag is unlikely to take a risk with them for the game.

The Dutchman has been cautious with player injuries this season and he is unlikely to rush the defender back unless he is fully fit.

Aside from Varane, Lisandro Martinez is another central defender on the sidelines for United. He is out for the season after a foot surgery.
