Man City ready to battle Man Utd for world-class defender
Manchester City are ready to go head-to-head with Manchester United to sign Napoli defender Kim Min-jae this summer.
The South Korean has been in exemplary form for the Naples outfit this term, keeping over 30 clean sheets in all competitions.
His progress has caught the eye of top Premier League clubs and Calciomercato claim that City and United are mostly interested.
Both clubs have already made contact with the player's representative and they are now looking to trigger his release clause.
The central defender currently has a buy-out clause worth €60m valid for foreign clubs. It can be activated from July 1-15.
It is left to be seen whether either of them will land his signature.
Min-jae recently said that he is not bothered by the speculation and he could yet sign a new long-term contract at Napoli.
The South Korean is currently happy with the proceedings at the Serie A outfit after helping them win the Scudetto after 33 years.
