Man Utd given green light to sign England star
Manchester United have been given the green light by the Glazers to sign Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount this summer.
The England international has declined a new contract with the Blues, and he is expected to leave the club in the coming weeks.
Mount has already agreed personal terms with United, and ESPN claim that the Glazers have given the go-ahead for the deal.
The Red Devils still need to finalise a fee with the Blues, but there is optimism that an agreement could be reached soon.
Mount has been one of the Blues' best-performers in the last four years. He has contributed a combined tally of 70 goals and assists.
Despite this, the Blues seem prepared to part ways with him. They have refused to meet his wage demands of around £250,000-a-week.
Hence, he is set to move on from his boyhood club. United are his preferred club this summer amid interest from Arsenal and Liverpool.
Mount is likely to play in the number eight role at Old Trafford.
