Clement Lenglet to complete Tottenham transfer

Clement Lenglet news

Lenglet arrives in North London

Tottenham will wrap up the signing of French international defender Clement Lenglet this afternoon, with the centre-back signing a three year deal at White Hart Lane. The player enjoyed a one year spell with Spurs last season when on loan from Barcelona, and indicated that he wanted to stay in North London beyond the terms of his loan spell.

The 28-year-old has already agreed personal terms and Tottenham are on the verge of agreeing a fee with Barca for the signing of the defender, believed to be in the region of 15 million euros. The defender will earn around £85,000 a week at Tottenham. At Spurs, Lenglet made 35 appearances and scored one goal, also providing two assists during the last campaign.

Lenglet came through the ranks at Nancy in France, before making a transfer to Spain in 2017 to Sevilla. Just one campaign in Seville followed, before a big money move to Barca and a 35 million euro transfer in 2018. After more than 100 games for Barcelona; Lenglet opted to move to England.

Lenglet will be hoping to add to his 15 caps for France with a permanent move to England.
