French striker reluctant to join Chelsea this summer
Montpellier striker Elye Wahi is reluctant to join Chelsea this summer due to their plans to loan him out.
The 20-year-old was brilliant in the French Ligue 1 last season, scoring 19 goals and providing six assists.
His form has caught the eye of many top clubs, but Chelsea are currently the closest to making an approach.
According to RMC Sport, the Blues are ready to pay €32m to prise away the young marksman from Montpellier.
However, a deal is far from straightforward as Wahi is aware that he could be loaned out to Strasbourg next term.
The Frenchman does not believe the move would be an upgrade, and he is prepared to wait for offers elsewhere.
Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund are among clubs monitoring his situation, but they are yet to make an approach.
The Gunners could intensify their interest in him once Folarin Balogun heads for the exit door in the coming days.
Balogun is currently on the radar of Serie A giants Inter Milan.
