Chelsea looking at Liverpool target amid Caicedo blow
Chelsea are considering a move for Liverpool target Romeo Lavia amid Brighton & Hove Albion's reluctance to sell Moises Caicedo.
The Blues have been in regular contact with the Seagulls for Caicedo this summer, but they have failed to agree on a transfer fee.
The club recently made an offer of £80m which was immediately rejected. Brighton want at least £100m to consider his departure.
Amidst this, David Ornstein reports that the Blues are considering alternatives, and Lavia is one of the names on their radar.
Liverpool have already started the bidding process for the teenager. They recently failed with an opening bid of around £37m for Lavia.
They are preparing a fresh proposal in the region of £45m for the 19-year-old, but Southampton are holding firm on the £50m price tag.
This could open the door for Chelsea to enter the transfer race. They have the funds to sign the Belgian, but may need to convince him.
