Fulham table offer for Alex Iwobi
Fulham table offer for Alex Iwobi
Fulham are amongst the teams that have shown interested in Everton midfielder Alex Iwobi, as the former Arsenal player considers a departure from Goodison Park. Iwobi has been a regular first-team player at the Toffees but has recently admitted that he would like a new challenge, particularly as he heads into the final year of his contract, and Fulham are weighing up a £20 million transfer deadline day deal.
The 27-year-old has played 123 times for Everton since his arrival in 2019, and in a 15 year spell at Arsenal, he made his debut in 2015 and played a further 100 times, mainly under former coach Arsene Wenger. The Nigeria international was very highly rated at Arsenal, but ultimately ended up at Everton as part of a £35 million transfer.
Iwobi is looking for a new club now as instead of next summer as he wants to play regularly, but also importantly he feels that he is underpaid on his current deal and could earn more money elsewhere.
There have previously been rumours that even former club Arsenal could re-sign the Lagos-born midfielder.
