Conor Gallagher speaks on his Chelsea career
Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher has said that he is loving the challenge after proving himself in the club's shirt this season.
The England international had his breakthrough campaign with the Blues last term. He started off poorly and struggled to find the consistency.
This led to claims that he could be sold over the summer. Tottenham Hotspur were particularly keen, but a transfer did not materialise.
Speaking to Chelsea's official website, Gallagher is now happy to have become a mainstay in the starting XI under Mauricio Pochettino.
He said: "I love it. Most times in my career, I’ve had a point to prove. I love the challenge and want new targets to set myself. I just want to carry on what I’m doing now, help Chelsea win more games, and climb up the table."
Chelsea are currently in talks over a new contract with Gallagher and there is great optimism that he will be rewarded with a long-term deal.
