Chelsea provide huge injury update on Nkunku
Chelsea have confirmed that Christopher Nkunku is going through the final phase of his recovery from a long-term knee injury.
The Frenchman joined the Blues from Leipzig over the summer but got himself injured during the pre-season tour of the United States.
It was predicted that he may not return until January after a surgery, but the attacker has made a quicker recovery which is a huge boost.
The Blues have now revealed that the forward is close to returning to team training and could be involved after the international break.
This weekend's game against Manchester City will come too soon for him, but he could make his debut versus Newcastle United later this month.
Chelsea returned to winning ways on Monday night against Tottenham Hotspur. They won by a convincing 4-1 scoreline in north London.
The Blues were assisted by Spurs having two men sent off. They face a much difficult challenge against Manchester City at home this weekend.
City have beaten them in the last six meetings in all competitions and the Blues need to be at their very best to get something out of the game.
